Why shouldn't I pluck hairs out of moles on my skin?

I have a dark brown mole on my leg and dark hairs have appeared. I am told that I should not pluck them out. Why?

Why shouldn't I pluck hairs out of moles on my skin?
Because it can cause melanoma
Reply:I have no idea but I'd pluck them.

I think it's just disgusting when people have long strands of hair coming out of their moles.
Reply:They just grow back thicker and more hairy.

i have one in a private area but no hair comes from it its just there
Reply:I think moles are extensions from veins or something? It may start bleeding uncontrollably, and you'll have to let the doc burn it shut
Reply:i dont know why not?? i think it will be fine
Reply:have no idea but I'd pluck them
Reply:just buzz them off, I have a feeling that moles are more sensitive to sun burning and injury and could develop cancer in extreme cases
Reply:ewwww!
Reply:you can if you want but you might take the risk of them growing back thicker go see a doctor to have them removed permantely
Reply:It's not true! Old women's tales, but if you have any doubts just cut them instead of plucking them. They can look very ugly...
Reply:there are such things as ingrown hairs and they become infected. they swells and they hurt a lot. you are not suppose to remove hair that way.
Reply:I've also heard you're not supposed to pluck them and I don't know why... Although it might have something to do with infection- I'm sure an infected mole isn't a pleasant thing to have and plucking a hair out of it can lead to ingrown hairs or infection in the now-open pore. If it's bothering you, just trim it.
Reply:i'd pull them out if i were you. i don't see any reason not to!
Reply:dirty mole girl!! lmao
