How do moles grow on your skin and why?

Why moles grow? Moles and pigmented lesions grow because of age and heredity or the person has changes in his or her body’s hormone levels. These three factors are interrelated to each other. As the person reached adolescence moles start to grow until the person reaches the age of 50. The number of moles could be between 20 or more and the more numbers you have the risk of melanoma increases. Moles appear in pregnant women and to those who are taking birth control pills. If your ancestors have moles, most likely you will also have moles in your body as well. You will also inherit the risk of having melanoma later in life.

Why moles grow? Moles grow because of the sun. When the skin is over exposed to the sun’s UV rays the moles will darken and new moles will start to grow. The sun can cause moles, freckles and other skin growths and other skin blemishes that can become unsightly and annoying. Moles grow when the person is not protecting his or her skin when going outdoors. The presence of moles in the skin can also be caused by frequent use of tanning beds.

Moles and freckles often grow on white-skinned people than people of color. This is obvious in people who are living close to the equator. While being exposed to the sun, new moles could grow anywhere in the body such as the face, torso, hands, legs, buttocks and of the back. These moles can also occur in the less exposed areas of the body such as the armpits, under the feet and genitals. These moles are generally benign and however when moles are triggered by some factors they changed. Moles can be evaluated using the rule as prescribed by the ABCD of moles standard.

Why moles grow? Most people have moles and some are unnoticed because the colors of the moles are close to the tone of the skin or even lighter. As mentioned these moles become darker once exposed to the UV rays of the sun. Moles should not be a concern but if the moles change and you see any alarming signs in an existing mole, then you have to schedule and appointment with your dermatologist to have these moles removed to avoid the risk of melanoma.

If you have moles that grow....it's definitely (skin) cancerous....have it checked by your doctor. Moles are like birth marks... they don't grow...if they grow bigger and bigger.... you are in trouble.

Reply:moles grow with age, something about hormones. some are harmless, others you should check out. i think the rule of thumb is, if it's not circular, go to the doctor. like if it's a half moon type of shape for example, it might be cancerous.

i never had moles before, but at 22, they're poppin up here and there. my father and grandfather had them, so 'm not that worried.

WHATEVER YOU DO, do not pull them off. hurts like hell, and won't stop bleedin for a while. i'm guessin moles are just an extra growth of skin.
