If I have moles (birth marks) should I go ahead and get them removed to prevent skin cancer?

I have a couple and heard that they could eventually become cancerous. Is this true, and should I go ahead and see about getting them all removed? (I have about 4 of them, and I am only 24 years old.)

Moles can become cancerous, BUT I have several, and my doctor told me that I would need to worry ONLY if they started to grow and turn black. I am 68 and have never had to have one removed. Just watch for changes in them and consult your doctor if there are any.

Chow!!
Reply:Only if they look really wierd, (think a disgusting looking color) and are not circular shaped but more of a messed up oval. If you're not sure, ask your doctor.
Reply:I think if you really want to because you are self conscious about them. Otherwise only if they grow and change shape and color.
Reply:Well, moles and birthmarks are two different things. Not all moles become cancerous, but there is no harm in getting them removed if you want them gone.
